The first leg of the trip was a grueling 14 hour flight from DC to Tokyo. I ended up barely sleeping on the plane despite a paltry 4 hours of sleep the night before. Thankfully, the international entertainment selection was pretty good; I ended up watching The Great Gatsby and a few other movies. Here is my first international meal — Pork Katsu Curry at Narita Airport. They give you a lot of gravy but it tastes great with the rice. I know it probably isn’t the best katsu in the world, but it sufficed for the small three hour layover I was in Japan.
